Rain and Prayer Revisited

Carbondale, Illinois

I got my lawn mowed, which is an enormous achievement, especially for an "on" week. I didn't trim or pull weeds, which is desparately needed, but it's a start. Another day or so and the grass would have been beyond bareable. The weeds already are. I believe I have some corn growing under the deck in the back yard. It would be the aftermath of many birds and much birdseed; I just don't know my agriculture well enough to determine if that's what it really is. I'm going to let it grow and see (though the rest of them things are goin' down as soon as I can get out there).
Now, a couple of days ago, I posed the question regarding prayer, specifically, if my prayer for rain on a day forcast for rain could be considered an answer. In my prayer I asked God for rain, that I knew that many others needed it as well, but I asked specifically that it may rain in Cape Girardeau County. We got over 3 inches at our house (in the middle of town, which is the far southern edge of the county), but again, it was forcast with a 40% chance. I'm descibing this in an explicit manner, because the airport has only recorded 0.94" of rain for the entire month of August. The airport is located in the City of Cape Girardeau, but it is in Scott County, not Cape County. Interesting indeed. Would God listen to someone like me to make it rain? Clearly it would not be any power I had, but did it rain as much as it did because I asked? Maybe a collective of persons in our area asked? Coincidence? I don't know, but I'm inclined to think that my faith had something to do with it.
Oh, and that treadmill thing I mentioned yesterday? It never happened.
